This is a comprehensive training program for those that have not yet completed a race, completed one or two races either as a solo race or a relay, or just want that extra push to get back into shape. USA Triathlon Coach Melissa Sebastian and avid experienced marathon runners will guide you thru skills to improve your run with the tweaking of your form and techique as well as give you useful drills to get you finishing at your peak. We can accomodate any level of runner and anyone who wants to set a goal and run through the famous shoot at Camp Randall. Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. The art was derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo in the early 20th century.
It teaches that a smaller, physically weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique-most notably by apply joint locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments and mixed martial arts competition or self-defense. Sparring, referred to as rolling, and live drilling play a major role in training.
Sun Prairie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
The Sun Prairie Jiu-Jitsu Program is a dual program designed to teach beginners the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so that they may excel in our advanced program. Because BJJ is a complex art, understanding and mastering the basics is the cornerstone of any student’s success.
Beginner BJJ
The Sun Prairie Jiu-Jitsu Beginners Program is designed to introduce beginners to the basics of standing and ground grappling, and to provide a solid foundation of Brazilian jiu-jitsu’s sport and self-defense aspects. A typical class includes a thorough warm-up followed by technical instruction and live rolling intended to hone in on very specific fundamental positions and strategies.
Advanced BJJ
The Sun Prairie Jiu-Jitsu Advanced Program explores a broader range of techniques and positions while still enforcing at its core the basics of BJJ. In addition to teaching more complex grappling, throwing, clinching and submission techniques, these classes incorporate no-gi submission grappling and an intense competition class designed for serious competitors.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced grappler, in your teens or an adult, our BJJ classes are great for self-defense and sport for both recreational purposes and a serious competitive edge. Benefits include gained confidence and a sense of discipline, as well as a regimented training program you can depend on, a total body workout, increased fitness levels and weight loss.
