Family Fun Nights

November-March
Saturday Family Fun Nights are a great chance for the entire family to spend time together doing fun activities at Prairie Athletic Club! Each Family Fun Night runs from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring a special event (see schedule below) starting at 6:15 p.m.  Food and drink specials may also be offered in the Lost Court. 
In addition to the special events, activities available during Family Fun Nights include swimming, racquetball, open gym, open soccer, and Jr. Gym time.  Family time will be offered on the track from 3 to 6 p.m.  Please note: if a different event has been planned in a certain area of the club, that area will not be available for Family Fun Night (example: racquetball tournament).

PAC Gold Cove, Gold and Red Members: Included with membership

MIDDLE SCHOOL FUN NIGHTS

If you are in 6th, 7th or 8th grade, come join in a night of fun activities in a safe and supervised environment.  Students can participate in a different theme and support a different charity each night.  The themed event will be followed by a snack and open swim in the new 6 lane, deep water lap pool!
Wristbands will be given to each student.

Students must checki-in at the front desk and get wrist band.  Upon check-in, a parent contact and phone number must be listed in case of emergency.  Students will stay with the supervisor until parent picks them up.

A Day at the Spa

This year instead of the annual American Girl party we will be hosting a Day at the Spa just for girls!
There will be stations for pedicures, manicures, hair styling and crafts.  Girls can come in their robes and pajamas and enjoy the full spa experience.

YOUTH GOLF PROGRAM (ages 5-17)
This is a five week program starting Wednesday, June 16.  Registration forms will be available after April 15 in the Sun Prairie Golf Course Pro Shop or at the front desk at Prairie Athletic Club.

2010 Frost Bite Challenge

All you need to do is burn 50,000 calories in 80 days!

Triathlon Training

Beginner Triathlon Training
This is a comprehensive training program for those that have not yet completed a race, completed one or two races either as a solo race or a relay, or just want that extra push to get back into shape.  These sessions will provide you with a triathlon-training program that focuses on all three disciplines of triathlon: swimming, biking and running.  For more information contact Melissa Sebastian at m.sebastian@prairieathletic.com or Laurie Kessler at laurie.kessler@prairieathletic.com.
There will be two 10 week sessions.  The first begins January 11.  Sign up online under Adult Programs.


Intermediate Triathlon Training 
This is a training program for those that already have more than a few races under their belt and want to improve on speed, technique, run mechanics, bike power/cadence, and a good understanding of how to train harder, faster, and more efficient. You will get a great workout each week in one of the three disciplines with the focus on mechanics. When you are finished with this season you will be a better, faster, stronger athlete with skills, drills and lots of knowledge under your belt to PR your races.
There will be one session beginning April 6.  Sign up online under Adult Programs.

Crazy Legs Classic

Join us Saturday, April 24 for Crazy Legs!  Represent Prairie Athletic Club run 8k or walk 2 miles.  For participating you will receive a 2009 Crazy Legs T-shirt, PAC Team T-shirt and Fun & Fitness hat.  Melissa Sebastian, Group Fitness Director, will pick the materials up leave them at Prairie Athletic Club's front desk for you to pick up personally on April 21 or 22.
Fill out the Crazy Legs race form on their website www.crazylegsclassic.com/funfitness.cfm and turn it into Melissa Sebastian no later than April 9.


Euchre Nights at PAC

Monthly Euchre nights return!    Euchre nights are open to PAC members and their guests.  We play one Friday evening per month.  Sign-up by noon the day before each tournament at the front desk.  Since space is limited, payment must be received at the time of sign-up to secure a reservation. 
Theme Euchure Nights are back!  Snacks, drinks, and dress will have a special flare.  It is a great way to relax, have fun and meet new people.  Keep an eye out at the club for the various themes we'll be offering.

Check in is from 6:30 - 6:45 p.m. the night of play.  Play begins at 7 p.m.  
Upcoming nights are as follows:      

  • March 5 - March Madness
  • April 9 - Spring Fling (Final night of the season)

Fee: $8 per person (includes snacks and beverage tickets)
Payment options:  Cash or club charge only
Restrictions:  Must be 21 or older to play

Mini-Ironman Challenge

The Challenge begins on April 15-May 15.  You can sign up at the front desk for only $10. 

Mileage is as follows:

  • Bike               112 miles
  • Swim              2.4 miles
  • Run                26.2 miles

One month to complete the swim, bike and run the traditional Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon.  The events do not need to be performed in consecutive order as long as the full distances are archieved within the allotted time frame.  Track your workouts on training logs and PAC will tally the distances for you!

Relay for Life Golf Outing

On Friday, May 14 the PAC Relay for Life team will once again be holding its annual Golf Outing Fundraiser. This is a great way to help fight cancer, which has affected most of us at some point in our lives. 
The golf outing will start at noon, with registration at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at 11a.m. Please contact Tammi Kauppinen at 608/837-4646 x115 t.kappinen@prairieathletic.com if you would like to sponsor a hole, donate a prize or need any other information.



 

Blood Drive

Current Challenge

Current Challenge is a water walking/exercise class held in the Lazy River of Dolphins Cove.  It will be held on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. from June 11-August 27.  

Please check the Dolphins Cove page of this website to see if the class is being held during inclement weather. 

This class in included in a Dolphins Cove membership, but tickets can be purchsed at the front desk (10 tickets for $30) for non-Cove members.
