NEW Class at Prairie Athletic Club!

BOGAFiT is an innovative fitness program that builds strength, deepens flexibility, and improves balance and coordination through a carefully selected set of movements on the FiTMAT.  BOGAFiT is a high intensity workout on the water with low impact on your body.

The FITMAT is a training platform that provides a new, fun, and dynamic way to exercise. Its main feature is its rigidity and ability to float on water, and it can hold in excess of 400lbs without sacrificing its integrity and can make the most basic exercises challenging.  

We are very fortunate and excited to bring this programming to Prairie Athletic Club!

We will offer two class formats.  BOGA FiTMAT which is HITT with low impact on your body.  This is sure to get your heart pumping! You will experience elements of yoga, Pilates, resistance band training, and much, much more!  This is the traditional FitMAT style. 

We will also offer BOGA YOGA.  Taking your yoga practice out of the studio and on to the water is sure to challenge both your mind and your body.  Both formats will be 45 minutes in length.


How do I sign up?
Due to the nature of the program and class size restrictions, classes will be limited to 6-8 participants and will be required to use Mind Body to sign up. Mind Body will also allow you to view the class schedule and purchase classes and packages for BOGAFiT. Click here to register!

Where do I check in for class?
For outdoor classes please check in to the front desk and then meet in Adventure Lagoon 15 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled class.  Set up takes a few extra minutes and we will all transport our equipment together.  For indoor classes please meet in the lap pool area 10 minutes prior to the start of your class.

Now the most important question…What do I wear?
Wear what you are comfortable in.  Understand that you will be getting wet (that’s half the fun), but also know that you will be spending most of your time on top of the mat.  You want good supportive clothing that will take you from jumping to downward facing dog.  Swimsuits are fine if you’re comfortable in that, but many prefer yoga type leggings or shorts and top. Triathlon or swim shorts also work well.  I would suggest staying away from cotton as that will get heavy and in the way when you get wet.  No shoes for this class.  FiTMAT was designed to be used with bare feet for comfort and to avoid slipping.

6 Lane Lap Pool - Aqua Fitness Classes

Aqua Circuit: An intermediate level of training alternating between strength and cardio. Stations or intervals are created both in shallow and deep water. Always different with a goal to challenge your body; increasing strength and endurance. Equipment is used to enhance this class.

Aqua Fit: If you are new to the water or an experienced participant this is a great class. The class offers a moderate level or intensity. The instructor will demonstrate higher or lower versions of moves to personalize your training.

Aquatic Kickboxing: Designed for all levels of fitness and involves powerful boxing and kicking movements in the water. Fantastic ab workout, great cross training and big calorie burn without the impact.  

Aqua Toys: A fun, energetic class that features the use of noodles, bands, hand buoys & balls to strengthen and tone your entire body!

AQUA ZUMBA: Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

CURRENT CHALLENGE: This class is held outdoors in the lazy river in Dolphin's Cove. This always popular 45 minute workout will challenge your lower body and core. Perfect for those wanting to step up their level of fitness in a unique and fun way!

DEEP WATER RUNNING: Little or no joint impact ideal for runners, cross training or those looking for a quick moving workout. Maximize time and efficiency through interval training while increasing strength, flexibility and range of motion. A flotation device will be used.

Shallow/Deep Combo: Prepare to explore all water depths. Utilize intense cardio energy and a great variety of equipment. And emphasis is on strength and toning.

WATER IN MOTION: A low impact pre-choreographed, vertical exercise program. Participants get results regardless of age, skill or fitness level.  Work and play to the best tunes in a low impact environment.
